The genesis of L'écrin

The company L'Écrin was founded on the banks of the Swiss Riviera in January 2003. It was based on several observations: the market for exceptional watches is booming and yet very little followed by the canvas market. The high prices of the timepieces sold are often not in line with the welcome and follow-up offered by “typical” jewelers. The second-hand watch market is also booming. But, for the collector, it is difficult to find a brand that can be trusted in terms of follow-up and quality. It was in 2008 that the French company was created. She opened her own website where she offered second-hand watches at affordable prices.

Jérôme Meignan

Founder and manager of the case, Jérôme is described as “a passionate watchmaker”. After having proven himself in the technical field, Mr. MEIGNAN decided to turn to sales to develop his passion for watchmaking. A specialist in the big names in Swiss watchmakers, he is able to talk for hours on the quality and technicality of a timepiece that he is passionate about. He therefore proves to be a wise and quality interlocutor for hesitant or simply passionate amateurs.

Our commitments and working methods

We make every effort to guarantee an irreproachable service. The pressure of customer reviews is a reality for small structures like ours, and it does not come without reason. Our success in selling watches without any problems for so many years is no coincidence. We only sell watches with their original papers, except for watches over 20 years old, for which we require a clear history. Each watch purchased is always accompanied by its purchase invoice, its customs regularity, its registration in our precious metals police book, as well as the various watch services performed. In addition, we also ask for the ID of the previous owner and sign a clear and transparent purchase contract.
