This model appeared around 1963 as the fourth generation of the Speedmaster. It was the first time an asymmetrical left-right case with crown guards was adopted, and also the first time the "PROFESSIONAL" designation was added to the dial following its official adoption by NASA. It is said that the fourth-generation Speedmaster equipped with the Cal. 321 movement was used by NASA during the Apollo 11 mission.
