In addition to displaying 2 time zones through the traditional combination of the rotating bezel and 24-hour hand, the GMT-Master II can display the time of 3 time zones simultaneously when combined with an independently adjustable hour hand. This is the second generation Ref.16710, which appeared in 1988 to replace its predecessor Ref.16760. With the popularity of the GMT-Master II, the old GMT-Master ceased production in 2000, but at that time, the blue-red two-tone bezel and the black monochrome bezel that only existed on Ref.16700 were inherited by this Ref.16710, and subsequently Ref.16710 offered a choice of 3 bezel types: the traditional black-red two-tone bezel, as well as the blue-red two-tone and the black monochrome.
