In the previous generation, the Daytona transformed from a work tool into a status symbol. The introduction of the first in-house chronograph movement, the Cal. 4130, in 2000 marked a major evolution. Born after five years of development, the Cal. 4130 inherited the excellent basic construction of the Cal. 3100, which was the foundational movement of the time. The adoption of the vertical clutch chronograph mechanism eliminated the jumping of the hands when starting the chronograph and significantly improved accuracy during chronograph operation. Furthermore, by utilizing the space created by the compact vertical clutch, the mainspring barrel was enlarged, achieving an impressive 72-hour power reserve. This generation, which continued to evolve for over 20 years with various iterations, definitively established the Daytona's reputation for exceptional performance.
